Why Dish Size Matters

Satellite dishes work by receiving signals from satellites in space. Each satellite covers a specific geographical area, known as its "footprint."

The larger the dish, the wider the footprint it can cover. That means a bigger dish gives you more flexibility to receive channels from further afield.

If you're primarily interested in UK channels (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, etc.), you'll need to access the Astra 2 satellite. Let’s look at which dish sizes cover which areas.

✔ UK:

  Ideal for trips a little deeper into France.

• 85cm Dish + Automatic Skew LNB
  Get extended coverage toward southern France and northern Spain.

Out of Range? No Problem

Even if you're traveling outside the Astra 2 footprint, all is not lost. While UK channels may be limited, you can still receive some basic services and access other satellites like Astra 1 and Hotbird, which offer a range of European TV channels.
