The dust has settled on another Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf, globally recognised as the world's largest and most important trade fair for mobile leisure and caravanning.
Held annually, Caravan Salon serves as the central platform for the entire industry, where over 800 international exhibitors showcase their latest innovations and new-season models across numerous halls and an extensive outdoor area. This year's show attracted 269,000 caravanning and camping enthusiasts from 80 countries around the world.
Visitors can explore a unique range of products, from tiny caravans and campervans to luxury motorhomes, along with technical components, accessories, tents, and travel destinations. We take a look at some of the quirkier caravans on display at this year's show.

The DERUBIS Series 7 is a luxury twin-axle caravan that blends maritime craftsmanship with modern design, inspired by its manufacturer's background in shipbuilding. A key feature is its fiberglass monocoque body, which is a single-piece construction providing enhanced strength, superior insulation, and resistance to leaks, earning it design awards.

The interior is spacious and well-equipped, comfortably sleeping up to four people with a front bed and a slide-out middle bed. It features high-end amenities like a fully equipped kitchen, a wet room with a separate shower, a DAIKIN roof air conditioning system, electric underfloor heating, and ambient LED lighting.

Its innovative design focuses on extreme flexibility, featuring a modular interior that can convert from seating/sleeping for up to four (two adults, two children) to a large cargo area for bikes or gear. Essential amenities, including a compact galley kitchen that slides out for outdoor cooking and a hidden wet bath, are cleverly integrated. Power is supplied by a 6 kWh lithium-ion battery and integrated solar panels, supporting full off-grid capability and providing power for e-devices, all controllable via an onboard touchscreen and a mobile app.
3. Beauer 3X

The Beauer 3X caravan is a French-designed, lightweight travel trailer defined by its patented telescopic expansion system that automatically triples its interior living space in less than a minute at the push of a button. While compact and easy to tow, with a footprint comparable to a car when folded, it expands from 4 to 12 square meters to offer a fully equipped, well-organised living space for up to four people.

The interior, which is fully furnished with a kitchen, separate bedroom with a double bed, a convertible lounge, and a toilet/washroom, features all its furniture cleverly nested together when retracted, which automatically slides into place upon expansion.

The LIDU Veteran 350 is a unique and rugged compact caravan from the Chinese manufacturer, LIDU RV, distinguished by its groundbreaking construction: a single-piece, durable sheet metal body more akin to an automotive build than traditional caravan construction. Designed with a tough, military off-road aesthetic, the lightweight trailer is highly manoeuvrable and built on an AL-KO chassis.

The interior is functional and tech-forward, comfortably sleeping two people with a convertible sofa/bed, touch-operated blinds, and overhead storage. Its design emphasizes outdoor living with an exterior-focused kitchen concept and an integrated outdoor shower, making it particularly appealing to couples and digital nomads seeking a durable, high-tech, and uniquely styled off-grid solution.
