How Does the System Work?
The system works by deploying four lightweight hydraulic corner jacks which are fastened to the chassis. Working in conjunction with each other and the control unit, they automatically judge the level and tilt of your motorhome to get the optimum position.
For convenience and safety, the system comes with a removable touchscreen control panel. This allows you to freely walk around your vehicle, checking for any obstacles or hazards. Or, you can just sit back and watch the hydraulic jacks do all the work for you.
There is no risk of the chassis and bodywork twisting as there will always be at least two hydraulic levelling jacks working at the same time.
The two-way hydraulic operating mechanism means when you are ready to leave your site, the jacks retract hydraulically. Simply meaning they won't get stuck in soggy mud, or frozen ground.
The system can also be used manually for times when you need to lift just one wheel for changing, or all four for storage.
The system also has an inbuilt safety feature preventing you from accidentally driving off with the jacks down.

Please have a browse through our FAQ's and hopefully your question will be answered. If you still have questions, please contact us and our team can assist.
What happens if I lose the removable touch panel or the battery runs flat?
You can still auto-level or auto-retract the system from the touch panel housing in the event you lose or damage the touch panel.
The touch panel has a long-life rechargeable battery that will automatically recharge as soon as it is placed back in the housing.
Replacement touch panels can be ordered from an E&P Hydraulics Accredited Partner if required.
What is the maximum angle the motorhome level system will auto level to?
Up to approximately 5% or 3°.
Unfortunately this question has no easy answer due to several variables, which can differ depending on the nature of the slope and the make and model of the vehicle. For example, the weight and height of the chassis, the wheelbase, the distance between jacks , the stroke of the jack all play a part. However, due to the strength and stroke of E&P Hydraulics jacks and the sophistication of their software, you can be assured that E&P is class-leading in this area.
How do you level if the angle is too severe?
You can use the manual function on the remote control, using the inbuilt level indicator to guide you. This will give you more available stroke on the jacks. In the unlikely event that you still cannot find a level position, then you can place suitable blocks of wood at the relevant jacking points if necessary. However, please take care to ensure you create a sure footing.
How long does the motorhome levelling system take to level?
It can take a maximum of 120 seconds, but often less than a minute.
What happens if the motorhome battery runs flat?
The E&P Hydraulics levelling system requires a fully charged battery to operate, it is an auto levelling device requiring power, just like a fridge or heating system. However, you can retract the jacks manually if your battery is flat and unable to take a charge. This operation is explained in the user manual.
What is the minimum battery voltage required to operate the E&P Hydraulics levelling system?
12 volts – 800 watts
The E&P Hydraulics Level M levelling system takes its power from either the vehicle’s main battery, or the leisure battery. Their system software is designed to protect the battery for primary functions, such as starting the engine. Therefore, if the battery voltage is low then the hydraulic levelling system cannot be used and an alarm will sound on the control panel to indicate this. As a result of this possible eventuality, and in the event you cannot charge your battery, there is a manual override operation which can be applied should you require it to get off site and this is explained in the user manual.
What if I forget to retract the motorhome levelling jacks before leaving?
Whilst you, the user, are responsible for ensuring your vehicle is safe to drive, there is an inbuilt safety feature ensuring the levelling system will only work when the handbrake is engaged. If you release the handbrake with the levelling jacks still deployed, whilst the ignition is on, an alarm will sound and the hydraulic jacks will retract immediately, to help prevent any damage.
Can I stand inside the motorhome when the level system is operating?
No, any movements could cause the hydraulic levelling sensor to go out of synchronisation. It is also very important that you can see what is going on around and underneath the motorhome for safety reasons.
Will the Levelsystem lose pressure over time?
No, it is a closed loop hydraulic system.
Where are the pump and control panel fitted?
This is a mutual decision made between the customer and TCC Services and it usually depends on the vehicle layout. Ideally it would be located in a storage locker inside the motorhome where it is safe and secure from any tampering and/or impact damage.
If there is no feasible place to install within the vehicle, there is usually the possibility of mounting the pump underneath using the custom E&P Housing.
The control panel positioning is also reliant on the vehicle layout and is again agreed between TCC Services and the customer. It is usually just inside an entrance for easy access.
Can I store my motorhome with the hydraulic levelling jacks down?
Yes, this is useful for protecting tyres during long periods of storage, but it will not completely stop tyre degradation. It also provides extra security against theft. However, please ensure the exposed cylinders on the jacks are suitably protected from the elements, to prevent corrosion. This can be done with silicon spray, or by wrapping the hydraulic jacks with a cloth material.
Can I use the levelling system to help me fit security devices to my wheels and/or change a tyre?
Yes, a massive benefit to the E&P Hydraulics levelling system is that it aids with lifting the vehicle, to change the wheels & tyres quickly and easily. However, it is the user’s responsibility to ensure the vehicle is safe to lift and that it is adequately supported with axle stands if any work is being carried out under the vehicle. Please do NOT work under a vehicle if the only method of support is the E&P Levelsystem.
