The Maxview Roam Basecamp portable Wi-Fi solution is a flexible and versatile omni-directional 4G Wi-Fi Internet solution. Suitable for a range of different leisure applications, including vehicle and static home applications where drilling a hole in the roof is not desirable.
In addition, it is ideal for small portable business applications i.e:
- Outdoor show vendors
- Fast food trailers
- Garden offices
- Other similar applications
Supplied with a Router from our Maxview Roam System, which is tried and tested with 5 years on the market. This is fully enclosed inside a compact but powerful weatherproof antenna assembly and can be easily accessed to change the data SIM card provider. As the router is located in the antenna assembly, there is no signal lost due to long cable runs, optimising 4G and Wi-Fi reception.
It includes a secure fast slide-in, rust resistant fixing bracket, allowing the system to be temporarily mounted to walls, poles, tripods or any other suitable, secure method onto your vehicle or any other suitable application.
Cabling can be fed simply into the vehicle through an open window, door, or roof light. Only a single cable is required to the antenna, using Power over Ethernet (PoE) to power the router, meaning there are no limitations on cable length. The PoE adaptor also features an additional port for connecting a wired device such as a laptop or TV.

How does it work?
The Roam Basecamp Portable Wi-Fi Solution uses a powerful antenna and a 12V 4G router which provides your motorhome Wi-Fi or Caravan Wi-Fi etc.
The Roam Basecamp helps you to get better internet in two ways:
- Firstly the Roam Basecamp uses 4G mobile data in order to create a reliable Wi-Fi hotspot. By using the antenna it can often pick up usable signals where your phone can’t
- Secondly where a direct Wi-Fi source is available the Roam can be used to connect to an existing Wi-Fi hotspot. Ensuring data is only used when necessary
- Overall the Roam Basecamp acts as an ideal motorhome or caravan Wi-Fi booster to keep you connected
Do I need a SIM card for the internet application?
The short answer is yes. There are many different types of SIM cards to choose from and how you choose them should depend on what type of user you are.

Will I be able to watch Netflix, BBC iPlayer or Amazon Prime?
Yes you absolutely can! The Roam Combo system will keep you connected to all your favourite shows in rural and remote areas, as long as you have a subscription or license for the relevant service.
You will need about 2 – 3Mbps for standard definition streaming and about 3 – 5 Mbps for HD streaming which are achieved almost everywhere in the UK with the Roam Combo system.
Music streaming services like Spotify need a maximum of 1Mbps.
Will it work in Europe?
Yes, it will work in Europe. The Roam 5G Combo works across the UK and Europe but this is dependent on data provider and contract.
