How Does the System Work?
When you arrive at site, setup with the Level C Compact system is quick and simple. It uses just two hydraulic jacks, both of which can be deployed automatically (or manually) using the wall-mounted control panel inside your caravan. This gives you full control of the stabilising process and ensures the caravan is level side to side - normally the tricky part. You can then use the jockey wheel to aid the front to back levelling and the system tells you when you've found it. The existing corner steadies can then be wound down as normal.
There are three simple steps to level your caravan:
- Deploy the two hydraulic caravan jacks by pressing the button on the control panel.
- Use the jockey wheel to aid with front to back levelling.
- Manually adjust the existing corner steadies as normal, to stabilise this position.
When you're ready to head home, simply wind up your corner steadies as normal, press the 'retract all' button and the hydraulic jacks will retract.

FAQ's
Have a question? We are here to help
Please have a browse through our FAQ's and hopefully your question will be answered. If you still have questions, please contact us and our team can assist.
What is the maximum angle the caravan levelling system will auto level to?
Up to approximately 5% or 3°.
However, this question has no hard and fast rule due to several variables such as the make and model of the caravan. For example, the distance between jacks fitted on the axle, the stroke of the caravan jack and the available stroke of the AL-KO big foot corner steadies.
How does the Levelsystem work if the angle is too severe?
E&P advise that you can not auto-level on a gradient higher than 5%. However, this depends on variable factors such as the make and model of the caravan, the chassis weight and height and the nature of the slope. If needs be, you can use the manual function on the remote control, using the inbuilt level indicator and placing suitable wooden blocks at the relevant jacking points to aid tricky levelling situations, but be sure to site the blocks squarely under the footplates, to avoid damaging them.
What is the current draw?
Normal conditions = 11 amp + 1-2 seconds at 17 amp when over pressurising to ensure all jacks are fully retracted.
Extreme conditions (e.g. cold weather) = 17 amp.
What happens if the caravan battery runs flat?
The caravan levelling system requires a fully charged battery to operate. It is an auto levelling device requiring power, just like a fridge, heating system, or motor mover.
E&P Hydraulics system software is designed to protect the battery and, therefore, if the battery voltage is low then the hydraulic levelling system cannot be used and an alarm will sound on the control panel to indicate this. In the event your battery voltage is too low, you can hook up to the site electrics, or your towing vehicle to recharge it.
What is the minimum battery voltage required to operate the E&P Hydraulics levelling system?
12 Volts
The E&P Hydraulics Level C system takes its power from the caravan leisure battery and it doesn't take much when compared to motor movers. Their system software is designed to protect the battery and, therefore, if the battery voltage is low then the hydraulic levelling system cannot be used and an alarm will sound on the control panel to indicate this. In the event your battery voltage is too low, you can hook up to the site electrics, or your towing vehicle to recharge it.
Is the warranty of my caravan affected by installing the Levelsystem?
The warranty of the caravan manufacturer is not affected by the fitting of the Level C system. Caravan manufacturers fit corner steadies to their vans in line with guidance and approval from AL-KO, who supply the corner steadies. AL-KO have tested the E&P system and given their approval in a report.
The E&P Level C system is compatible with all makes and model of caravan and is offered by various OEM’s as standard fitment, or as an optional extra, as well as being offered in the aftermarket only through their approved Partners, like TCC Services.
What if I forget to retract the caravan levelling system before leaving?
Whilst it is you, the user, who is responsible for ensuring the caravan is safe to tow, this scenario is nearly impossible because you would likely be unable to hook up the caravan to the tow vehicle with the jacks down. However, it is always good practice to walk around the caravan and visually check that all jacks are fully stowed before leaving site.
What happens if I lose the removable touch panel or the battery runs flat?
You can still auto-level or auto-retract the system from the touch panel housing in the event you lose or damage the touch panel. The touch panel has a long-life rechargeable battery that will automatically recharge as soon as it is placed back in the housing.
A replacement touch panel can be ordered from an E&P Hydraulics Accredited Partner if required.
Will the Levelsystem lose pressure over time?
No, it is a closed loop hydraulic system.
Can I store my caravan with the hydraulic levelling jacks down?
Yes, this is useful for protecting tyres during long periods of storage, but it will not completely stop tyre degradation. It can also help prevent a sticking handbrake and make the caravan more secure against theft. If you are leaving the system deployed for a long period of time, please use a silicon-based protective spray on the axle jacks to prolong their durability.
Can I use the jacks to help me fit security devices to my wheels?
Yes, this aids the fit of wheel security devices greatly. However, you, the user, are responsible for ensuring the caravan is safe to lift and that it is adequately supported with axle stands if any work is being carried out under the caravan. Please do NOT work underneath a caravan if the only method of support is the E&P Levelsystem.
What is the difference between the full Level C system and Level C Compact?
The full Level C system will level the caravan using two hydraulic jacks, mounted to the axle, and steady the caravan using four automatic hydraulic corner steadies. This levels the caravan from side to side and front and back automatically.
The Compact version of the system uses your existing corner steadies and simply levels from side to side. You would still need to deploy the corner steadies manually.
